Colton Tucker is excited to return to Camp La Junta as Assistant Director and Safety Coordinator. A Kerrville native, Colton is a graduate of Tivy High School and a proud Baylor alumnus. During his senior year at Baylor, while considering a future in teaching and coaching, he discovered Camp La Junta—and after his very first tour, he knew he had found something special.

Colton joined the full-time La Junta staff in the spring of 2016 as Program Director and spent six years helping shape the camp experience for countless boys. In the fall of 2017, he married his high school sweetheart, Klare. After the summer of 2022, Colton stepped away from camp to serve his alma mater as a teacher and golf coach at Tivy High School. Even during that time, camp was never far from his heart.

Colton and his family are thrilled to be back at La Junta. He and Klare have two daughters, Adaline (5) and Kendell (2), who can often be found around camp in princess dresses and dress-up shoes—a joyful and uncommon sight in the hills of La Junta.

Deeply rooted in the Kerrville community, Colton and Klare are involved with the Arcadia Live Trivia Committee and the YoungLife Committee, and previously served as YoungLife leaders. In his free time, Colton enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with his girls, cheering on Baylor and Tivy athletics, and relaxing with a good movie night at home.

Life is Good. Camp is Better!
