So you Need Somewhere to Stay in Hunt?
Opening and Closing Day
Opening and Closing day schedules are set up such that families may drive back and forth from home in one day. However, many families chose to spend some time in the Hill Country while they’re here.
Arrival on Opening Days of all sessions will be between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Time spent on Opening Day, dropping off your camper, should be minimal, rarely as much as an hour. Buses from Houston and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area are available for First Term/1A and Second Term/2A dates.
Closing programs for 4-week and 2-week “B” Sessions will begin at 2:00 p.m., finishing around 5:00 p.m. 2-week “A” sessions’ closing programs will begin at 2:30 and finish by 4:00 p.m. No organized transportation home will be available. Families are expected to attend this fun, important day.
Because of the large number of camps and vacation sites in the area, summer lodging can be difficult. We strongly suggest you make any Opening or Closing Day accommodations as early as possible, as available accommodations can be become limited.
