Luther Graham, age 86, of Hunt, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2000. Interment was in the Hunt Japonica Cemetery on Friday, August 25, 2000.
Luther was born on December 3, 1913 in Flower Bluff, Texas. He was raised on a south Texas ranch and attended Texas A&M where he majored in Animal Husbandry. Luther spent his life working with livestock, exotic game and young boys.

In 1948, Luther and his wife Italia, began coming to Camp La Junta, bringing with them a string of horses and the camp's riding program. In 1955 they were able to purchase the camp and give it their stamp, and western heritage.
In the early 1960s, Luther became a pioneer in the Hill Country Exotic Game business. Many a camper and hunter alike enjoyed the opportunity to marvel at Luther's vast collection of imported Sheep, Goats, Deer, Hogs, Elk, Antelope and Buffalo.

As a long time resident of Hunt, Texas, and the well known owner of Camp La Junta, Luther left his special mark of strength and leadership on all those that knew him. He was a man's man in the true tradition of a Texas cowboy.
There was a special gathering of family and friends at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2000, at Camp La Junta off Highway 39 in Hunt, Texas, to celebrate the life and memorialize the passing of Luther Graham.
