The Philosophy upon which we base our programming decisions is simply stated yet vigorously pursued: “A young man should be encouraged to make the most of his mental and physical capabilities, thereby increasing his self-confidence and self-image”.
From cabin life to activity selection. From evening program to daily awards. From lesson planning to rest period challenges. Everything we do at La Junta is based upon long term success and short term victory. We want to challenge our campers with daily activity choices as well as life time personal choices.
At Camp La Junta, it’s all about boys. Boys having fun. Boys winning. Boys losing. Boys laughing. Boys crying. Boys trying new things. Boys mastering old things. Boys playing. Boys getting dirty. Boys swimming and boys riding. Boys learning to be happy. Boys learning about life. Boys learning about living. Boys learning about relationships. Boys learning about success. Boys learning about themselves.
When our summer is over we fully expect that your son will have had a fun summer camp experience as well as a positive, confidence building, life experience. Afterall, “A boy is the only thing that God has to work with to make a man.”
Camp La Junta takes pride if providing a system of parent communication that keeps you fully informed about your summer experience as well as keeping you confident about your son’s camp experience. Each day there is a newsletter about program specifics, allowing you to keep informed about the goings on. Whether it be the weather, the special events or the awards, you have a daily update on what your son is involved with. Also, Camp La Junta publishes 200 photos to a secure parent portal allowing you to see your son’s happy face, in acton. There’s even a weekly video highlight film if you prefer your happy faces in motion. If that weren’t enough, there are bi-weekly Camp Director reports on line and a written report from your son’s counselors. We know you can’t be here with us, but we want you to know how much fun we’re having.
